Just one of the guys...

Two of the uncle's are in town to visit and Aidan is having an absolute blast. He loves being around them so much and just hangin'. There are often jokes told between Tony and his brothers in which Aidan participates with a laugh but has no clue what they are talking about. So cute. We so wish we had family close by but we are lucky that they come and visit often. Abuela was here the week before and cooked up a storm.

3 months

The little one is 3 months old as of yesterday! I hope to make this a monthly tradition so I can look back and remember what he was doing when. For those that know me well you know my memory is not the greatest :)

In the past month Logan has done quite a few new things...

• Smiles, coos and almost laughs
• Went to his first concert which he loved. He was wide awake for the entire thing just like a big kid.
• Tried his jumperoo and liked it! He is still a little too small for it but within a few weeks I am sure he will be jumping like crazy!
• Loves to watch his big brother
• Lost some hair but not all of it and right now it is pretty stagnant
• Went to Alki beach
• Let's you know he does NOT like his carseat by wailing the entire way in the car
• Gotten lots of new chubbies on his legs! He does not go back to the dr till his 4 month appointment but I am guessing he is around 12.5-13lbs.

I am sure there is more I am forgetting now but mommy brain is kicking in. I am excited to see what the next month brings!

Can you hear me now?

I finally did it. After 2.5 years I turned off the monitor in Aidan's room. Ok busted. So that isn't exactly the truth. Here is how it went down. I am one of those "have to know what is going on" (aka control freak) type of people. I have always slept with a baby monitor on my nightstand listening to Aidan's room since he started sleeping in his own room around 12 weeks old. His room is down the hall from ours but I don't think I would have heard him without it. Fast forward 2.5 years and I am still doing it. Aidan will turn on his aquarium when he wakes up and that is pretty much the only way we know he is awake. However sometimes he will wake up during the night and turn it on to fall back asleep. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that he can use it to put himself back to sleep but I also wake up because I hear the aquarium over the monitor. That wasn't a big deal until I was also waking up 1-2 times a night with a newborn. So a few nights ago I did it. I got rid of the monitor I had to listen to Aidan's room. I have a video monitor in my room that listens to Logan's room and I can switch the channel and hear Aidan's room if I need to though. That was a huge step for me and it felt good. He is old enough now that 1) I can hear him if he really needs me or 2) he can come to our room and get us.

Introducing...

On Friday, April 25th my brother and sister-in-law welcomed little miss Shana Bianca! She was 7lbs 3oz and 20". We are so excited for our first little girl of the family and cannot wait to spoil her.

Congratulations to the new mommy and daddy and to BIG BROTHER Elias!

Hard times...

Month one to two were definitely the hardest with Logan. His personality is so different from Aidan's when he was a baby and it was a lot of adjusting for everyone. The first month of his life he pretty much slept all the time so when he woke up a bit that second month it was more challenging. By the end of the 2nd month we all got to know each other a bit better and things were getting easier.

Three things I did discover that Logan loved during this time...

1) Tummy time. Most kids hate tummy time. This kids loves it. In fact if he is fussy I can put him on his boppy on his tummy and he is totally content.

2) Baths. I give Logan a bath every night. He calms down as soon as he hears the water running and it helps create a nighttime routine for us.

3) Black and white. I think Logan is going to be a minimalist. He loves anything black and white and simple. We have a mirror that he uses for tummy time and even on that he will find and stare at the black and white border over anything else.

Whoops....
4) Boobs. The man loves to eat. From Day 1 he has been a good eater which is much different then my experience with Aidan. I have a feeling Logan will be very close with his Abuela as he grows up because she is the master family cook!

And as evidence he loves to eat his 2 month stats...

I'm a big kid now

I have a love/hate relationship with one of my husbands personality traits. He is a big kid. I love watching him with Aidan. He has so much fun and Aidan adores all the goofy things daddy does. The hate part comes in on WoW (enough said :)). While I was tending to Logan this night Aidan and daddy were upstairs finger painting. They had so much fun and Aidan created quite the masterpiece.

Long time no blog...

So it has been quite some time since I last posted. Mainly it was because Blogger thought I was spam and locked me out for a bit. Now that has been resolved I need to catch up. A lot has happened in the past few months.

I am going to try and go back a bit in time to catch up so please excuse the mass of posts.
